Abstract: In this paper we address partner fit in virtual organizations and propose an ontology-based framework for partner integration. The ability to integrate dynamically on demand new partners into an existing value creation network is seen as a crucial ability and success factor for dynamic business networks. An ontology-based methodology (ODAMY) will be outlined and facilitating partner fit and matching as crucial functionalities in future dynamic business ecosystems will be demonstrated. The paper will outline the overall process from knowledge acquisition to exploration of knowledge by the network entities and management. The development of the methodology and implementation is realized based on available and proven technologies, tools and applications from KAON project. Reference ontology for virtual organizations is developed and modeled based on an elaborated empirical model. The assessed profiles of network entities are represented by instances. Our methodology allows to query for the best fitting partner in the network and to validate them with regard to partner fit to ensure a high quality of partners. Our derived ontology modeling, querying and “matching” methodology (ODAMY) is outlined and the basic functionality using the powerful KAON as implementation platform is shown.
